West Bengal: If Trinamool leaders wish, they can come and meet in North Bengal: Governor

Trinamool’s All India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee had announced from Delhi that the party will run a Raj Bhavan campaign on Thursday. But Governor CV Anand Bose reached North Bengal on Thursday to take stock of the flood situation. The Governor replied to Trinamool and said that he will not stop. He also said that Trinamool leaders may come to meet him in North Bengal. Trinamool ridiculed the Governor’s reply by calling it “landlord culture”. Due to the flood situation in North Bengal, Governor CV Anand Bose limited his visit to Delhi and from there went straight to North Bengal. Why visit to North Bengal on the day of Trinamool’s Raj Bhavan campaign? In this context, the Governor said, “After hearing the news of flood victims, I fled from Delhi and came here.”

Governor could have skipped North Bengal tour: Biman Banerjee

Here, Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee said- He could have left the tour of North Bengal on Thursday. He was informed long ago. The Chief Minister herself is watching the flood situation in North Bengal. If he goes, the state government will have to re-look at its protocols. According to the Speaker, the Governor has already opened a complaint cell, where people can register their complaints. And people wanted to go to Raj Bhavan to complain, so he could have stayed. The Speaker said- It would have been better if the Governor had not gone.
