Anand Bose (Governor CV Anand Bose, Has asked senior officials of the state government including Chief Secretary BP Gopalika to give information about the action taken in the ration scam. According to information received from sources, apart from Gopalika, the Governor has called Home Secretary Nandini Chakraborty and Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Kumar for the meeting. The Governor has asked the state Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and DGP to provide information about the action taken in the ration scam. He will also ask them to give information about the progress made in the arrest of accused Trinamool Congress leader Shahjahan Sheikh.
ED chief met the Governor yesterday
The ED director had met the Governor on Tuesday. An ED team was attacked on Friday when they had gone to the house of Trinamool Congress leader Shahjahan Shaikh in Sandeshkhali to conduct raids in connection with alleged irregularities in the ration scam. ED has already lodged a complaint in Najat police station regarding the attack. The family of the accused Trinamool Congress leader and the state police have also filed separate complaints against the central investigating agency.
Whoever has broken the law in Sandeshkhali will be identified and strict action will be taken: DGP
On the incident of deadly attack on the ED team which had gone for action in Sandeshkhali of North 24 Parganas, the new DGP of the state Rajiv Kumar said that we will take strict action against whoever has broken the law. What action is the police taking against the accused in the Sandeshkhali incident? On this, Kumar said that whatever elements are breaking the law, whoever has broken the law, we will take strict action against them.
