Basirhat, Manoranjan Singh: There was a sensation in the area after the body of a girl was recovered from a field in Gunrajpur village of Govindpur Gram Panchayat under Swarupnagar police station of Basirhat, North 24 Parganas on the India-Bangladesh border. The body of the deceased was recovered with her face burnt and her neck severed. Mobile phone and glasses have been recovered from the dead body. A bag, face wash, paste, lipstick were also found. After receiving the news of the incident, the police of Swaroop Nagar police station reached the spot. The girl’s face was covered with a scarf.
Police estimate that Chashma is Bangladeshi
According to the police, the deceased girl has not been identified. Efforts are being made to identify. There is confusion regarding this. It is said that on Tuesday morning some local people going for farming work saw the dead body of the girl in the field near Kakarol’s farm. Seeing his neck vein cut and his face burnt, he immediately informed the police. Police say that the body has been recovered and sent for post-mortem. Glasses and mobile phone were found near the dead body. Police guess that Chashma is Bangladeshi.
Police started investigating the case
Doubts are being raised whether the girl is Bangladeshi, had she secretly entered the Indian border in the dark of night? Or was she trying to sneak back into Bangladesh from the border? So this incident happened due to falling into the clutches of some brokers? Was she sexually assaulted and murdered? The police is busy finding answers to many questions. Here, the police has also given information to the officers of 112th battalion of BSF. Police guess that the girl’s face has been burnt because she could not be identified. The police is busy investigating the entire matter.
