Chitpur: Transformer fire
There was a situation of chaos due to fire in the transformer built on the side of Khagendra Chatterjee Road in Chitpur police station area. The fire broke out late on Wednesday night. After receiving the news, firefighters reached there with a fire engine and started trying to control the fire. The fire was brought under control within half an hour. Short circuit is being said to be the primary cause of the fire. No person was harmed in this incident.
Maniktala: Dead body of youth found hanging from noose
A dead body of a person was found hanging in Maniktala area. When he was taken to RG Kar Medical College Hospital, the doctors declared him dead. The deceased has been identified as Sanat Mandal (33). After receiving the news, the police of Maniktala police station reached there and took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem. The police is interrogating the family members of the deceased to find out why he took such a step.

Two youths, who were playing games on mobile phones while sitting on the railway line, died after being hit by a train. This tragic accident happened last night in the area adjacent to Akra station of Bajaj-Sealdah branch of South 24 Parganas. Due to arrival of two trains on the up-down line, both the youth did not get time to move away from the line.
