Repair work of Vidyasagar Setu will start from November, traffic will be controlled for one year
Repair work of the second Hooghly bridge ie Vidyasagar bridge connecting Kolkata to Howrah district is likely to start from the month of November. According to the information received from the sources of the state secretariat, after Durga Puja, in the month of November, the state government is going to control the traffic on this bridge for eight months to one year. According to the information, the renovation work of the country’s largest cable stayed bridge will be started after the puja. It was told that the condition of Vidyasagar Setu has become so bad that if repairs are not done soon, it will become even more dangerous. Experts have proposed to repair the bridge keeping the bridge completely closed, but this is not possible. Therefore, the state government is going to follow the path of banning the traffic system on this bridge.
