Demonstration of employees demanding DA equal to that of central government employees
An organization of state government employees in West Bengal on Friday started a three-day protest near the state secretariat ‘Nabanna’ demanding release of dearness allowance at par with the central government employees. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday announced to give four percent additional dearness allowance (DA) to the state government employees from January next year. Members of the employee organization ‘Sangrami Jowtha Manch’ sat on a dharna near the Chief Minister’s office with placards and posters in their hands and raised slogans demanding release of DA at par with the Central Government employees.
