All services on East-West Underwater Metro route likely to start in June, 2024
The East-West Metro Corridor (Green Line) is set to bring revolutionary changes in the transportation scenario of Kolkata and the adjacent Howrah district. At present the section from Howrah Maidan to Esplanade is almost ready for commercial service and test runs are being conducted regularly on this section. Metro Railway GM P Udaya Kumar Reddy is also taking stock of the progress of routine work. Due to some unfortunate incidents during the construction of underground cross way at Bahubazar on the 2.5 km long section between Sealdah and Esplanade stations, some disasters have occurred two-three times during the construction.
