Fire breaks out in cots in Minakhan, 10 animals burnt alive
A massive fire broke out in a cot in Chhayani village of Minakhan police station of North 24 Parganas in the early hours of Wednesday. The incident created a stir. 10 animals were burnt alive. According to the information, the name of the victim’s bed owner is Manirul Mollah. In the early hours of Wednesday, Manirul and his family members were sleeping, when suddenly Manirul and others woke up after hearing the screams of cows and buffaloes coming from the bed. Manirul went and saw that the hut was completely burning and many animals had also fallen prey to the fire. After this, the family members immediately tried to extinguish it by bringing water, but everything was destroyed in the fire. 10 animals died due to burning.

Old man dies after drinking pesticide mistaking it for water
An old man died after drinking pesticide mistaking it for water in Sakhabhanga village of Belpahadi police station of Jhargram. The name of the deceased was Leelu Murmu (68). He was a resident of Sakhabhanga village. According to information received from local and police sources, he had gone to work in the fields. One bottle kept in his bag contained drinking water and the other contained pesticide. During work, he accidentally opened a pesticide bottle instead of a drinking water bottle and drank the pesticide, due to which his health deteriorated. He was admitted to the hospital for treatment, where he died during treatment. The police sent the body for autopsy.
Three arrested in cyber crime case
Three people have been arrested by the police of Onda police station of the district on charges of fraud through cyber crime. The arrested people were presented in the court on Wednesday.
Madan Mitra may undergo surgery today
Last Monday i.e. on the night of December 4, Trinamool MLA from Kamarhatti Madan Mitra was admitted to SSKM (PG) due to difficulty in breathing. Last Thursday night, Mr. Mitra’s condition suddenly deteriorated. His difficulty in breathing had increased further. Also started having severe cough.
