West Bengal: Abhishek Banerjee and other Trinamool leaders sitting on strike at Rajghat in Delhi, police forces deployed in large numbers

General Secretary of Trinamool, West Bengal Abhishek Banerjee And other Trinamool leaders protested at Rajghat against the central government demanding funds for MNREGA and other schemes. During this, Trinamool National General Secretary and MP Abhishek Banerjee reached Rajghat on the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. After this his demonstration started. It is noteworthy that all of them are wearing white clothes and black ribbons. Leaders have made several posters citing figures of ‘outstanding’ rupees of the state and demanding immediate payment of the rupees. But no slogan was heard during the protest. It is believed that the ruling party of Bengal will hold a symbolic protest against the Center at Rajghat.

Abhishek Banerjee’s demand to pay the outstanding money

Along with Abhishek Banerjee, other Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MPs of the party also sat on strike. Many ministers of the state and officials of the organization are also involved. MP Prasun Banerjee, Mahua Moitra, Kakuli Ghos Dastidar, Party Youth President Sayeni Ghosh and others are present in the protest. Party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee accused the Center of blocking funds for 100 days of work, housing and road schemes in Bengal and said that threatening and intimidating the Trinamool Congress will not work. The Central Government will have to pay the hard work and rights of the poor of Bengal. He said that the events of the last two years have proved that the money of the people of Bengal has been forcibly stopped. Banerjee also complained that the people of Bengal are being deprived of their rights for political interests, as the BJP has realized that they will never be able to win elections in Bengal.

Stopping employment money for 100 days is not a political fight: Babul Supriyo

Trinamool leader Babul Supriyo said that whatever political fight has to be done, they (BJP) should do it but stopping the employment money of Bengal for 100 days cannot be a political fight. This is against the constitution and federal structure of the country, this should not happen.

Delhi Police did not give written permission to Trinamool

Although the protest program at Rajghat was pre-planned, Delhi Police had not given written permission to Trinamool. Despite not getting permission from the police, Abhishek Banerjee is sitting on a dharna peacefully after paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. Heavy police force has been deployed outside Rajghat. A large number of police forces have been deployed in the entire area. There is already tight police security at Rajghat. Since Monday was Gandhi Jayanti, the President, Prime Minister and Union Cabinet members have been reaching there since morning to pay tribute to Gandhiji. On top of that, due to the pre-planned program of Trinamool, security arrangements have been tightened there.
