North 24 Parganas of West Bengal Sandeshkhali Incident Amidst the public anger, the police has also come into action mode. The uproar increased further after the arrest of the former CPI(M) MLA on Sunday. Former Sandeshkhali MLA Nirapad Sardar was taken to the local police station from his house in Bansdroni on Sunday morning. He was interrogated for several hours at Bansdroni police station. At around 3 pm, five police officers from Basirhat and Sandeshkhali police stations came to Bansdroni police station. After this the former CPI(M) MLA was arrested and taken to Basirhat police station. It is being told that Nirapad Sardar has been arrested on the complaint of absconding Trinamool leader Shivprasad alias Shibu Hazra. On the other hand, CPI(M) has called for a 12-hour bandh in Sandeshkhali Block No. 1 and 2 today against the arrest of the former MLA.
