In Huppu of Gola police station area of Ramgarh district, the wedding guests beat up for giving less meat to Khassi. While running away from being beaten by the wedding guests, a waiter fell into a well and died due to drowning. After this, the family members of the deceased held the wedding guests hostage for two hours.

The incident happened late on Tuesday night. At a wedding, the wedding guests beat up the waiter for serving less Khassi meat. Meanwhile, a waiter died by drowning in a well while escaping. The deceased was identified as Krishna Mahato (21), father Roshan Mahato, resident of Bel Tola, Badki Pona.

According to the information, Dheeraj Kumar, son of Chetlal Mahato, resident of Koiri Tola of Ramgarh, was getting married to Preeti Kumari, daughter of Yogendra Mahato, resident of Huppu, on the night of 23 April. After roaming around the village with the band, the wedding procession reached the bride’s house at around 2:30 in the night. Then the varmala ceremony started.
The wedding guests were adamant on eating food before the varmala.
Meanwhile, the wedding guests said that they will eat food. The waiter said that food will be served after varmala. The wedding guests got angry with this. Meanwhile, the wedding guests started insisting that the waiters serve them food. After the food was served, the wedding guests demanded to be given the Khassi meat of their choice.
When less meat was given, the groom got angry and started fighting.
On this the waiter said that they are serving meat as per the orders of the girl’s side. Due to getting less meat, the guests got angry and threw the meat at the waiter serving the meat. After this there was a fierce fight between the waiter and the wedding guests. Meanwhile, while running away, Krishna Mahato fell into a well near the marriage pandal. He died due to drowning.

People saw a pair of slippers in the well near the marriage pandal. When suspicion was raised, the body of Krishna Mahato was found.

Only then did the family members of the deceased calm down. The relatives of the deceased told that Krishna Mahato was the elder son of Roshan Mahato. The family members of the deceased have demanded the police administration to identify the killers and give them the harshest punishment.
