The minimum temperature in Delhi on Saturday was recorded at 8.5 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal. IMD has predicted the maximum and minimum temperatures on Sunday to be 18 and nine degrees Celsius respectively. This morning also fog was seen in the capital which has affected life.
The Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of light snowfall and rain in the Kashmir Valley next week, which will end the long ongoing dry spell. Dry weather is likely to continue till January 24, with light snowfall at isolated places in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir on January 25.
The weather office informed that from January 26-28, there is a possibility of light rain or snowfall at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir, while from January 29-31, light to moderate rain or snowfall is likely at many places.
As soon as the sky clears in Jharkhand, the cold has started showing its effect. The minimum temperature in the capital Ranchi reached 8.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday. Compared to the day before, the minimum temperature fell by about four degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature of Daltonganj has reached close to six degrees Celsius. The weather center estimates that the minimum temperature will remain low for the next one week. At present there is no hope of relief from cold. Right now the weather will be dry. The sky will also be clear.
Due to cold westerly wind, winter conditions prevail in entire Bihar. According to Meteorological Center Patna, there will be no relief from Kankani in entire Bihar including the capital. However, the weather is likely to improve after three days. Barring a few districts of Bihar, almost all the districts have recorded an increase of up to 3 degrees in daytime temperature.
According to Skymet Weather, light rain may be seen at some places in Odisha, Chhattisgarh and southeast Madhya Pradesh. There are chances of light rain at one or two places in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep and in Arunachal Pradesh.
According to Skymet Weather, cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are likely to be seen in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and North Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
