It is extremely cold in entire North India including Delhi-NCR. The fog continues to wreak havoc on top of that. The weather department has also issued an alert regarding fog. The minimum temperature was recorded at 4.8 degrees Celsius on Sunday. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be extremely dense fog in Delhi on Monday. The department has also predicted cold wave at some places. Due to fog, 11 trains coming to Delhi are running late by four hours. IMD said that the cold wave may continue in different places of Delhi.
Cold continues to wreak havoc in UP too. Due to the bone-chilling cold, life is completely disrupted. The Meteorological Department has also issued a cold day alert in 41 districts including Ayodhya. The mercury dropped to 6 degrees Celsius in the capital Lucknow on Sunday morning. Along with cold, UP is also facing cold wave since last one week. There seems to be little hope of getting relief from the bone-chilling cold. The Meteorological Department believes that the cold will remain like this till January 24.
Even in Punjab, there seems to be no respite from the cold at present. In Punjab and Haryana today i.e. on Sunday, people were in bad condition due to cold. Moderate to dense fog was observed at most places in both the states. According to the local weather office, Hisar in Haryana is in the grip of severe cold, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 2.8 degrees Celsius. At the same time, Faridabad is also experiencing freezing cold. The minimum temperature recorded here was 3.5 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Chandigarh, the common capital of both the states, was recorded at 5.2 degrees Celsius. The night temperature in Patiala, Punjab dropped to five degrees Celsius, while in Gurdaspur the temperature was recorded at 5.5 degrees.
Kashmir, which is called heaven on earth, is also experiencing severe cold. Dry and cold wave conditions persisted in Kashmir on Sunday. On Sunday, the temperature dropped in most areas of the state at night. The minimum temperature in Srinagar was recorded at minus 4.8 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperatures in both the ski resorts of Qazigund in South Kashmir and Gulmarg in North Kashmir were below minus five degrees Celsius.
It is extremely cold in Bihar also. In many districts, people are in bad condition due to cold and cold wave. Even on Sunday, many districts including the capital Patna remained in the grip of cold wave. The Meteorological Department says that people in Bihar will not get respite from the cold till January 25. Many districts including Patna, Muzaffarpur, Gaya are experiencing bone-chilling cold due to the drop in maximum temperature. In fact, westerly winds are blowing in many districts, due to which the cold has increased considerably.
There is severe cold and cold wave in many districts of Jharkhand. The Meteorological Department has said that the condition of cold and fog will continue. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be fog or mist in the morning from 21st to 24th January. After this it may remain partly cloudy. Fog or mist is expected in the morning of 25th and 26th January and clear sky is expected later.
There was dense fog at many places in Rajasthan on Sunday morning and the cold wave also continued. According to the Meteorological Department, the harsh weather conditions will continue. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature of 3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Alwar, Pilani, Sikar and Karauli of the state. The department has predicted that the effect of cold wave and fog in the state will continue till January 24.
