The department has also predicted cold wave at some places. Due to fog, 11 trains coming to Delhi are running late by four hours. IMD said that the cold wave may continue in different places of Delhi.

There seems to be little hope of getting relief from the bone-chilling cold. The Meteorological Department believes that the cold will remain like this till January 24.

The minimum temperature in Chandigarh, the common capital of both the states, was recorded at 5.2 degrees Celsius. The night temperature in Patiala, Punjab dropped to five degrees Celsius, while in Gurdaspur the temperature was recorded at 5.5 degrees.
