Talking about the weather of Delhi-NCR, the cold is continuously increasing here. Visibility was seen very low in Delhi. The air quality index here was recorded at 450 on Saturday, which falls in the severe category. According to weather experts, the chances of getting relief from pollution for the next three days are very less.
According to Skymet Weather, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall in Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh during the next 2 days. At the same time, there are chances of light rain and snowfall in Uttarakhand on 23 and 24 December. There is a possibility of light rain in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
According to Skymet Weather, dense fog may occur in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, North Rajasthan and Tripura.
Due to western disturbance the temperature of Jharkhand continues to fluctuate. According to the weather centre, there will be similar weather on Sunday also. There will be fog in the morning of Christmas day i.e. 25th December, whereas during the day the sky will be clear and the weather will be pleasant. Till December 27, the minimum temperature of other districts including the capital will remain around 12 degrees Celsius. There is no possibility of rain.
The cold weather does not seem harsh in Bihar. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be snowfall in the mountains in the last days of the year. In such a situation, a change in the weather may be seen. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the weather will become cold from 29 to 30 December. People will get relief from sunlight during the day, but it will be cold in the evening.
The weather has now completely changed in many districts of the state including Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The minimum temperature in Lucknow has reached below 10 degrees. According to Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist of Zonal Meteorological Centre, Lucknow, continuous change in weather is being seen in Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of dense fog in the state on 24th and 25th December also. Its impact can be seen more in Western UP. At present the weather is likely to remain dry till December 28.
Snowfall occurred in the upper reaches of Himachal Pradesh on Saturday, while the Meteorological Department has predicted dry weather in the state from December 24. Shimla Meteorological Office Director Surinder Paul said that the effect of western disturbance was seen in the state from Friday night, but the weather will remain dry from December 24. There is little chance of snowfall in Shimla on Christmas. The Meteorological Department said that due to the effect of western disturbance, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in different parts of Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, Shimla and Sirmaur.
