Weather Update: Rain water becomes a problem for the people in UP including Lucknow, power failure in Bareilly, water logging in Agra

Lucknow/Agra/Bareilly: Change in weather patterns was recorded in UP including the capital Lucknow. The nature of rain was sometimes intermittent and sometimes torrential. Rain has increased the troubles of people in many cities including Mathura, Agra, Bareilly. Roads have turned into rivers. Traffic was affected due to roads being submerged in water. However, people got relief due to pleasant weather. The rains that started last Friday in Agra are continuing on Sunday as well. Because of this, on one hand people have got relief from the heat. On the other hand, people are facing difficulties in doing daily work. Due to light and heavy rain since last 3 days, many areas of the city have been water logged. According to the Meteorological Department, this rain may continue till September 12.

Rain started from Friday afternoon and continues

Amidst the extreme heat that has been prevailing in Agra for several days, it started raining from Friday afternoon itself. After light drizzle in the beginning, it started raining heavily in the late evening. This rain continued throughout Friday night and Saturday and is still continuing. Due to which life got disrupted. People were also seen getting relief from the heat. Due to rain in Agra for the last 3 days, many areas of the city were water logged. Due to waterlogging on Tedhi Bagiya Kalindi Vihar Road, the shopkeepers present on the roadside had to face a lot of trouble. Dirty water from drains entered the shops. Due to which the goods kept in the shop also got spoiled. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy rain in Agra on 11 and 12 September. There will be light clouds on 13, 14, 15 and 16 September. Due to rain in Agra, a minimum temperature of 24 degrees was recorded on Sunday. On Saturday, a huge tree fell in Idgah area due to rain. Under which a bike rider was buried and died.

In Bareilly, power supply to half the city remained stalled for 10 hours.

In Bareilly too, it has been raining heavily for two days. Due to this, people are confined to their homes. On Sunday night, the flag Kushai procession of the 105th Urs of Ala Hazrat started, but in the meantime, the electricity supply of half the city came to a standstill from Saturday night. Due to the failure of a big transformer of the electricity sub-station, the power supply in areas like CBganj, Gobindapur, Bidholia, Raza Colony, Anand Vihar, Jagriti Nagar, Swalenagar etc. of the city was stalled till late evening.

Even half the electricity is not available, water problem increased

The city’s electricity system has broken down during the rains. A series of faults occurred since Saturday night. There was a power crisis in many areas.
