Delhi rain likely
The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of cloudy sky and light rain in Delhi on Friday. Also, the minimum temperature is expected to drop to five degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Delhi on Thursday was recorded at 6.4 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal.
Severe winter in Sikar and Churu of Rajasthan
Many areas of Rajasthan including Sikar and Churu are experiencing severe cold. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the effect of a new western disturbance, there is a possibility of light rain/drizzle at isolated places in Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Nagaur, Churu, Hanumangarh and Ganganagar districts of western Rajasthan on December 22. Most of the remaining parts are likely to remain cloudy.
Cold wave havoc in Odisha
Cold wave continues to wreak havoc in Odisha and the minimum temperature was recorded below ten degrees Celsius at 16 places in the state. The Meteorological Department said that the night temperature is likely to drop by two to three degrees Celsius at some places in Odisha in the next two days.
Weather likely to remain dry in most parts of Rajasthan
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain dry in most parts of Rajasthan during the next one week from December 23. Also, on December 23, there is a possibility of moderate to dense fog at isolated places in Bikaner division of Western Rajasthan.
Light rain and snowfall expected in Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh
According to Skymet Weather, there are chances of light rain in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep on Friday. There may be light rain in wet Rajasthan, North Punjab and North Haryana between 22 and 23 December. Between 22 and 24 December, light rain and snowfall may be seen in Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.
There is a possibility of increase in minimum temperature by 2 to 3 degrees here.
According to Skymet Weather, there may be light rain and snowfall in the upper areas of Uttarakhand on 23 and 24 December. Deep fog can be seen in some parts of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of an increase of 2 to 3 degrees in the minimum temperature of North-West and Central India between 22 to 25 December.
