Severe cold conditions persist in Delhi. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature here was recorded at 18.3 degrees Celsius, two degrees below the season’s average. There is a possibility of dense fog at different places in Delhi on Thursday morning. Delhi has experienced five cold days and five cold wave days so far in January, which is the highest in the last 13 years.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 2-3 days.
IMD’s weather center located in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, said that in the next two days the minimum temperature will drop by two to four degrees. This will be seen especially in southern and adjacent central Jharkhand. After this, there is no sign of any major change in the temperature for three days. This means that people in Jharkhand will not get respite from the cold wave for the next three days.
The effect of Sun’s Uttarayan is not visible in Bihar. There are chances of severe cold in Bihar till 26th January. A major change in the weather can be seen from 26-27 January. The reason for this is the possibility of heavy snowfall in the mountainous areas.
According to Skymet Weather, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in the Western Himalayas between January 25 and 28. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain at one or two places over Gangetic West Bengal, southern Jharkhand, parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and northern coast of Vidarbha, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Light to moderate rain may occur in Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the next 24 hours. The intensity of rain may increase from January 26 and there are chances of moderate to heavy rain between January 26 and 28.
According to Skymet Weather, cold day to severe cold day conditions may be seen in many parts of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh on January 25. The cold may reduce somewhat in these states between 26th and 28th January.
