The festive season has arrived. Durga puja has started. Diwali and Chhath festivals will start soon, but the weather patterns are changing in such a way that at some places it is snowing and at other places it is raining heavily. The cold in the area has increased due to rain and snowfall on the high hills around Kedarnath including Kedarnath. The weather in Kedarnath has been bad for the last few days due to which the cold has increased. On Sunday, there was rain in Kedarpuri, hailstorm and then light snow, making the weather even colder.
At the same time, there was light sunshine in the lower areas, while in some places there was drizzle along with strong winds. Due to strong winds, trees broke and fell on the roads in some areas. It remained cloudy in many other places including Dehradun. The Meteorological Department says that there may be hailstorm along with rain on Monday.
Here, IMD has issued orange alert for Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. IMD has said that due to the impact of intense western disturbance in some areas there may be heavy rain and snowfall for the next two to three days.
Heavy rains occurred in many parts of Kerala on Sunday, due to which waterlogging was seen in many parts of the state including Thiruvananthapuram. India Meteorological Department gave this information. IMD has issued an orange alert for four districts including Thiruvananthapuram for Sunday due to the possibility of heavy rain.
Earlier, since Saturday night, there has been more than 100 mm of rain in the capital Thiruvananthapuram and almost double the amount in the area around the international airport, due to which water logging and floods have occurred.
IMD has also predicted heavy rain at many places in the state in the coming days. On Monday, it has issued orange alert in four districts of the state and yellow alert in the remaining districts.
It may rain in the national capital Delhi also on Monday. IMD has predicted that there may be light rain or thundershowers in Delhi on Monday and the sky may remain partly cloudy.
According to Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 km over the southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining parts of Lakshadweep, which means the sea level is sloping southward with height. Due to this, a low pressure area is expected to develop by October 17 which may intensify and move in the west-northwest direction.
Due to this, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain may occur at isolated places over coastal Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, south coast of Karnataka and Kerala. Light to moderate rain is possible on the western Himalayan hills along with light snowfall on the higher peaks.
Apart from this, sporadic rain is expected in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, parts of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Northern Madhya Pradesh, parts of Andhra Pradesh and Southern Telangana. According to Skymet Weather, hailstorm may also occur in some parts of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. Light rain may occur over North Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, South Konkan and Goa and parts of Northeast India.
