The maximum temperature in the national capital Delhi on Sunday was recorded at 34.6 degrees Celsius, one degree above the average. The IMD has predicted light rain or thundershowers and partly cloudy sky in Delhi on Monday, while the minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to be around 20 and 32 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with isolated heavy falls is likely over coastal Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, south coast of Karnataka and Kerala. There may be light to moderate rain on the western Himalayan hills along with light snowfall on the higher peaks.

Heavy rains occurred in many parts of Kerala on Sunday, due to which waterlogging was seen in many parts of the state including Thiruvananthapuram. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued ‘Orange Alert’ for four districts including Thiruvananthapuram due to the possibility of heavy rain. IMD has also predicted heavy rain at many places in the state in the coming days. On Monday, it has issued orange alert in four districts of the state and yellow alert in the remaining districts.

According to the weather centre, there is no forecast of rain during Durga Puja. However, the sky may remain cloudy on 17 and 18 September. But, there is no possibility of rain anywhere in the state during this period. The department has also said that now the temperature will fall gradually. The cold will increase further in the morning and evening.
