The weather patterns in the country are changing rapidly. With the beginning of the month of November, pink cold has started increasing in the atmosphere. According to Skymet Weather, a Western Disturbance is over Northern Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. Also a cyclonic circulation is formed over the North-Eastern Arabian Sea. Due to this, there has been heavy rain in many parts of the country in the last 24 hours.
According to Skymet Weather, moderate to heavy rain has been seen in Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the last 24 hours. Light to moderate rain has occurred in Kerala and Southern Tamil Nadu, with heavy rain also seen at some places. Light rain has occurred at one or two places in Rayalaseema and South Interior Karnataka.
October has ended and the month of November has started. Winter has started in many states of the country including North India. Meanwhile, major information is being given by IMD. IMD has said that this time there will not be much cold in November.
IMD has said that due to the strengthening of El Nino, the maximum temperature in November may remain above normal in most parts of the country except some areas of North-West and West Central India.
IMD Director Mrityunjay Mahapatra said rainfall across the country in November is more likely to be normal, which could be 77 to 123 per cent of the long period average. He said that there is a possibility of above normal rainfall in some areas of southern parts of Peninsular India, most parts of North-West India and many parts of East-Central, East and North-East India.
The IMD said that El Nino conditions are active over the equatorial Pacific Ocean and are visible up to the positive Indian Ocean Dipole over the Indian Ocean.
Meteorologists say that according to the latest global forecasts, El Nino conditions are likely to continue and positive IOD conditions are likely to weaken in the coming months. Due to this, November may remain relatively warm in many parts of the country.
According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, there may be light to moderate rain in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands along with heavy rain at some places.
Light to moderate rain may occur over coastal and southern interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
There may be light sporadic rain in Andhra Pradesh.
The air quality index of Delhi and NCR will be in very poor category.
