At the same time, according to Skymet Weather, cyclonic circulation is also forming over South-West Bay of Bengal. Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over the central parts of the Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours. Due to which it may rain.
During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain occurred in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kerala and Arunachal Pradesh. Apart from this, there was light rain in some parts of Maharashtra, Southern Madhya Pradesh and Sikkim. The weather remained dry in other parts of the country.
According to Skymet Weather, there may be light to moderate rain with heavy rain at some places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the next 24 hours. Apart from this, there may be light to moderate rain in Kerala and Lakshadweep.
Light rain is possible in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim and Northeast India. Scattered light rain is possible in western Rajasthan on 21st and 21st October.
The India Meteorological Department said on Friday that a depression has developed into an area over the south-east and south-west Arabian Sea which is likely to turn into a cyclonic storm by the morning of October 21. This will be the second cyclonic storm in the Arabian Sea this year. According to the formula adopted for naming cyclones in the Indian Ocean region, it will be called Tej.
According to IMD, the cyclonic storm is predicted to turn into a severe cyclonic storm on Sunday and move towards the southern coasts of Oman and nearby Yemen. However, meteorologists caution that sometimes storms can deviate from the predicted path, as was seen in the case of Cyclone Biparjoy.
Biparjoy formed in the Arabian Sea in June and after initially moving in a north-westerly direction, it passed towards Mandvi in Gujarat and Karachi in Pakistan.
Skymet Weather, a private weather forecasting agency, said that most models indicate that the storm is moving towards the Yemen-Oman coast. However, global forecasting system models suggest its recurrence over the deep central parts of the Arabian Sea, allowing the system to move towards the Pakistan and Gujarat coast.
During a cyclonic storm, the wind speed is 62-88 km per hour, whereas when the wind speed reaches 89-117 km per hour, it is called a severe cyclonic storm.
