The weather has changed in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in the state for three days. The Meteorological Department has issued this warning by issuing a special bulletin on Monday (September 18). While issuing a yellow alert, the Ranchi-based weather center has also told what will be the impact in the districts where there will be rain. In the alert of the Meteorological Department, it has been said that there will be heavy rainfall in the state from 20 to 22 September. There is a possibility of heavy rain at some places in the southern and central parts of the state on September 20.
According to Skymet Weather, the low pressure area is now over south-east Rajasthan and surrounding areas. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level. It is likely to move in south-westerly direction over south-west Rajasthan during the next two days. During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with isolated heavy falls is likely over Gujarat, Southwest Rajasthan, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kerala and Western Himalayas.
According to Skymet Weather, there are chances of light to moderate rain in Punjab, Southern Rajasthan, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Northeast India, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and South-Eastern Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of light rain in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Telangana, Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, Interior Karnataka and West Bengal.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that some districts of Odisha may receive widespread rain in the next four days. IMD has also predicted lightning at one or two places in 22 districts of the state during the next 24 hours. The department has issued yellow alert for the next two days and orange alert for the next two days after that.
IMD’s Odisha regional center said in its midday bulletin that a cyclonic circulation has formed over the northeast and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal. Due to its impact, a low pressure area is likely to form in the North-West Bay of Bengal and its surrounding areas in the next 48 hours. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding heavy rainfall in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada and Koraput districts.
Due to the reactivated monsoon, heavy rains are continuing in many areas of Rajasthan and in the last 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rains have occurred at many places. According to the Meteorological Department, due to this system gradually moving towards south-western Rajasthan on Tuesday, heavy rain activities are likely to continue in some parts of Barmer, Jalore and Jaisalmer and there is a possibility of reduction in rain activities in the remaining parts and on Wednesday. There is a strong possibility of getting relief from heavy rains in the state.
From September 20 to 24, rain and thundershowers may occur at one or two places in Western Uttar Pradesh and at a few places in Eastern Uttar Pradesh. During this period, a warning has been issued regarding thunder and celestial brightness. At present, rainy season continues in the state till September 24.
