The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued ‘Orange Alert’ for three out of 14 districts of Kerala.

IMD has issued ‘Orange Alert’ for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts. Apart from this, ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued for Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts for Thursday.

The department also issued a ‘yellow alert’ for Friday in seven districts – Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki. In ‘Orange Alert’ there may be heavy rain of six to 20 cm and in ‘Yellow Alert’ there may be heavy rain of six to 11 cm.

IMD has predicted light to moderate rain with strong winds during the day in Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur districts.

Monsoon is likely to withdraw from Jharkhand in a day or two. Monsoon has returned from Palamu division. According to the weather department, there is no chance of rain right now. There is no possibility of rain during Durga Puja also. The weather is likely to remain clear.

The weather remained dry in Jharkhand in the last 24 hours. Monsoon conditions remained weak. In its forecast, the Meteorological Department has said that the weather will remain dry till October 18. No warning has been issued by the Meteorological Department.

Conditions are now becoming favorable for withdrawal of Monsoon from Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, some parts of Gangetic West Bengal and some more parts of Odisha, some more parts of Karnataka, and remaining parts of Telangana, Maharashtra and Central Arabian Sea.

During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with isolated heavy falls may occur over Kerala, interior Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep. Light to moderate rain may occur in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and South Karnataka.

Light rain and snowfall is possible in Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh on October 14 and snowfall in parts of Himachal Pradesh on October 15.

Light rain may occur in Goa, Konkan and Goa, Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Scattered rain is possible at one or two places over Punjab, parts of Haryana, South Gujarat, Central Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
