It is expected to be cloudy and light to moderate rain in Delhi during the next five days. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 37.6 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 27.8 degrees, which is three degrees above normal.
At least 40 houses were damaged in Koraput and 60 ‘kutcha’ houses were destroyed and bridges were submerged in Kandhamal district due to heavy rains in Odisha on Thursday. IMD has predicted more rain on Friday. IMD said that the low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal has taken a severe form and it is expected to affect Odisha and Chhattisgarh during the next two days. Meteorologist of Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar said that due to continued heavy rains during the next 24 hours, rise in water level of rivers in the state may lead to flash floods in interior areas. He said that after September 15, the intensity of rain will gradually reduce.
According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rain may occur over Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh. There are chances of some heavy rains along with light to moderate rains in West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, East Rajasthan, parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
According to Skymet Weather, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Konkan and Goa, Telangana, Odisha and Jharkhand. There may be light rain in some parts of Northeast India, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, South Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and West Rajasthan.
Dark clouds have camped in Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi and it is raining. The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert of rain and thunderstorm in many other districts of Jharkhand. In many districts today the sky will be cloudy and there will be moderate rain. Such weather will last for the next five days.
There is a possibility of lightning along with thunder at one or two places across Uttar Pradesh on 15, 16 and 17 September. During this period, there are chances of heavy rain at one or two places in the state. There may be rain and thundershowers at some places in Western UP and at many places in Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
