It may move north-northwest till May 11. The Meteorological Center Ranchi has informed that the effect of cyclone Mocha is not expected in Jharkhand. At the same time, there is no possibility of any change in the maximum temperature for the next 3-4 days.

According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain and heavy rain at a few places are possible over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The sea condition is likely to be very rough over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal for the next 2 to 3 days. The wind speed is likely to reach 50 to 60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph and high waves can rise in the sea.

Light rain possible here

According to Skymet Weather, light to moderate rains may occur over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, hills of Tamil Nadu, parts of Arunachal Pradesh, South Konkan and Goa and South Madhya Maharashtra. For the next 24 hours, there may be light rain and snowfall at isolated places in the Western Himalayas and after that the weather will remain dry. Light rain is possible over Sikkim, South Chhattisgarh, Interior Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.

Weather will change due to deep low pressure area

According to Skymet Weather, the low pressure area over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal has turned into a deep low pressure area over the same region. In the initial phase, it is likely to move north-northwestwards till the morning of May 12. After this, it can gradually turn and move in the north-northeast direction towards the Myanmar coast. A cyclonic circulation is over the eastern parts of Bangladesh. Another cyclonic circulation is over Haryana and adjoining areas.

The weather system is expected to turn into a deep depression and intensify into Cyclone ‘Mocha’ in the next 12 hours. The cyclone is expected to move initially north-northwestwards till the morning of May 12 and later move towards Bangladesh-Myanmar coasts. The Meteorological Department said that fishermen and operators of small vessels, boats and fishing boats are advised not to venture into southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining central Bay of Bengal. The weather office has also asked people present in East-Central Bay and North Andaman Sea to return from the sea during the day itself.
