According to Skymet Weather, the low pressure area over the North Bay of Bengal is moving in the western direction towards North Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas. Its effect is now visible on Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. During the last 24-48 hours, we have seen moderate to heavy rains over many parts of these states. Now, this low pressure area will move in west-northwest direction over north-central parts of Madhya Pradesh, causing intense weather activities over West Madhya Pradesh during next 24-48 hours. Moderate to heavy rain will occur at places like Guna, Shivpuri, Parbhani, Neemuch, Ujjain, Ratlam, Betul and Indore.
According to Skymet Weather, from August 21 and 22, rain activities will start reducing in the western parts of Madhya Pradesh. However, light to moderate rains will continue over eastern and central parts of Madhya Pradesh as well as Chhattisgarh. This rain activity is going to be one of the longest spell of rain for both Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
The low pressure is now over Jharkhand and adjoining North Interior Odisha and North Chhattisgarh. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level, tilting southwards with height. It is very likely to move in west-northwest direction over North Chhattisgarh during next 2 to 3 days. A cyclonic circulation is over East Uttar Pradesh.
According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with heavy falls at isolated places very likely over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana, Marathwada, East Rajasthan and isolated parts of Telangana, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Light to moderate rains with one or two intense spells very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, North Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Konkan & Goa and Coastal Karnataka.
