Weather Forecast: The weather patterns in India are changing rapidly. After the rain, now the cold has started in many states. The temperature is falling in the morning and evening. Pink winter has started spreading in the entire environment. At the same time, according to Skymet Weather, there is a weak western disturbance over Afghanistan and surrounding areas.
According to Skymet Weather, an anticyclone is formed over south-eastern Rajasthan. Another cyclonic circulation has formed over Bangladesh. Due to this, during the last 24 hours, there was light to moderate rain in Lakshadweep across the country along with heavy rain at some places. Light to moderate rain occurred at some places over Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and south coast of Andhra Pradesh.
At the same time, light to moderate rain occurred in Southern Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Light rain occurred in Uttarakhand and North Interior Karnataka. Whereas, the air quality index of Delhi and NCR remains in the very poor to severe category.
According to Skymet Weather, tomorrow i.e. on November 1, light to moderate rain with heavy rain at one or two places is possible over South Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep. Light to moderate rain may occur in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Goa and coastal Karnataka.
Apart from this, light rain is possible at isolated places in Sikkim and Jammu and Kashmir. There is a possibility of light rain in southern Odisha after 24 hours.
At the same time, the India Meteorological Department said that under the North-East monsoon, the main area of South India has received the least rainfall in October for the sixth time since 1901. The IMD also said that data from 1980 to 2022 shows that there is a trend of delayed onset of rains under the northeast monsoon over Tamil Nadu and adjoining areas.
Speaking to the media, IMD Director General Mrityunjay Mohapatra said that under the North-East Monsoon, the main area of the South Peninsula has received the sixth least rainfall in the month of October since 1901. The Southern Peninsula includes five subdivisions of coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, interior parts of southern Karnataka and Kerala.
Patra said that whenever El Nino and Indian Ocean Dipole was active, Tamil Nadu and its surrounding areas have recorded less rainfall in the month of October.
El Nino conditions are associated with weak monsoon winds and dry conditions in India. In El Nino conditions, water currents in the Pacific Ocean near South America become warm. Mohapatra said that El Nino conditions are unlikely to continue in the next monsoon season.
IMD also said that except some areas of North-West and West Central India, maximum temperatures in November are likely to be above normal in most parts of the country. (Courtesy of Language Input)
