Amid heavy rains in parts of Kerala, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for the day in three districts of the state. IMD has issued ‘Orange Alert’ for Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Malappuram districts. ‘Yellow alert’ has also been issued by the department in Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Palakkad districts of the state. During ‘Orange Alert’, very heavy rainfall ranging from 12 to 20 cm is expected and during ‘Yellow Alert’, heavy rainfall between six to 11 cm is expected.
According to Skymet Weather, on November 6, light to moderate rain is expected over parts of Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Lakshadweep and Tamil Nadu with heavy rain at some places. At the same time, light rain can be seen over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the southern coast of Odisha.
