Talking about the country’s capital Delhi, the minimum temperature recorded here on Saturday was 5.5 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees less than the average for this season. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light fog on Sunday. The department has today predicted the maximum and minimum temperatures of Delhi to be around 25 and seven degrees Celsius respectively.
There was snowfall in some high altitude areas of Kashmir on Saturday, while rain was seen in the plains, due to which a change in the weather is visible. A weak western disturbance hit Jammu and Kashmir, due to which light to moderate snowfall occurred in some higher reaches of the valley. Western disturbance may affect Jammu and Kashmir till Sunday morning. Due to its effect, light rain or snowfall is expected at some places, especially in high altitude areas.
The Meteorological Department said that due to weak western disturbance, the minimum temperature in Jammu and Kashmir will improve by Sunday, after which the night temperature is expected to drop again by one to three degrees.
In Jharkhand, people are facing extreme cold due to the temperature being less than 10 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, this drop in temperature is being seen due to north-westerly wind. No major change in this temperature is expected for the next three days. After this, it may drop further by two to three degrees Celsius, due to which a cold wave-like situation may arise in the next week.
Talking about the weather of Madhya Pradesh, the cold has increased here too. There is a possibility of cloudy weather in the state before Christmas. According to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of rain in many parts of the state on 23-24 December.
There is a possibility of rain in many districts of Rajasthan also. Severe winter may occur in the state from 26-27 December. The minimum temperature recorded in Mount Abu on Saturday was 2 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be severe cold in Uttar Pradesh in the next seven days. Life will be affected due to cold wave in the state.
According to Skymet Weather, the intensity of rain may increase in some southern states between December 17 and December 19. Many parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala as well as Lakshadweep may see light to moderate rains along with some heavy rains. In Himachal Pradesh, there may be snowfall in the upper areas on December 17.
People’s problems have started increasing due to cold in Bihar. The temperature is falling in many cities due to which life has been affected. The effect of fog and mist will remain in the morning for the next three days in the state. According to the Meteorological Department, rain will start increasing in the state from December 25.
