BJP leader Subhendu Adhikari has urged Honorable Governor CV Anand Bose to visit Sandeshkhali as soon as possible and talk to the villagers. He says that Mamata Banerjee’s police is protecting and giving shelter to Sheikh Shahjahan and his gang members. Efforts are being made to suppress public protest. But when the police could not control the public anger, out of frustration Section 144 was imposed. People are being detained without any fault, including minors. The protesters are being forced to stay at home and teams of Mamata police and TMC goons are attacking their houses and targeting them personally.

Additional Director General (Law and Order) Manoj Verma, in a press conference, urged people not to take law into their own hands. He said that investigation is ongoing and action will be taken on the basis of all the complaints lodged. Also, if someone takes the law into his own hands, the law will take its course. At present the situation is under control.
BJP-CPI(M) provoking people – Trinamool
Trinamool alleges that BJP and CPI(M) are instigating people to create unrest in the area. Trinamool spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said that there may be dissatisfaction towards one or two Trinamool leaders in the area.
