WB News: Trinamool Congress busy in wooing Bihari farmers in Panagarh

Panagarh, Mukesh Tiwari: in west bengal Lok Sabha Elections After the announcement of Lok Sabha Election 2024, the election campaign of political parties has started. Candidates and workers of every party are involved in wooing the voters at their respective levels. During the Left Front government, the present government had given lease to the farmer brothers living on the banks of Damodar river from Andal to Triveni, living in Bihar and UP. After the departure of the Left Front government, these farmers had to face a lot of difficulties. In the last Lok Sabha elections, BJP started wooing these Bihari farmers. After this the said farmers turned towards BJP. But in this Lok Sabha election, Hindi speaking Trinamool Congress candidate from Burdwan Durgapur, former cricketer Kirti Azad and his team from Bihar have started to attract Bihari farmers.

Kirti Azad’s unique initiative during Lok Sabha elections

District Trinamool Congress Hindi cell has been engaged in this work. However, in the last Panchayat elections, these Bihari farmers were also deprived of their voting rights. Due to which these Bihari farmers were angry against the ruling party. But in this Lok Sabha election, Kirti Azad is busy attracting these Bihari farmers towards himself. Along with Gangbil Danga and Palash Danga, Mana etc. villages of Amla Joda Gram Panchayat of Kankasa police station of West Burdwan district, Bihari farmers settled in Sodpur Mana, Fatehpur, Gautampur, Kath Gola, Til Danga etc. located in the town of Budbud police station area, have been asked to come forward. To attract the people, Kirti Azad’s team is busy campaigning with Trinamool Hindi cell. However, these farmers are meeting Kirti Azad’s team. He is also telling about his problems.

Farmers’ allegation that they did not get any benefit from the present government

Farmers say that they did not get any benefit from the present government. Prabhu Nath Choudhary, a farmer of Sodpur Mana, says that after the country’s independence, his father came to Bengal in 1954 for employment. Originally being of Malhar caste, these people started clearing forests on the banks of Damodar river for their living. Started fishing and farming. After the coming of CPM government, the Bihari farmers who used to cultivate the land were given the rights in the form of lease. Prabhu Nath says that during the CPM government, he used to get compensation for damage to crops due to natural causes and also seeds, fertilizers etc. Paras Nath Tiwari, the only Hindi speaking CPM leader from Burdwan district present, had his hand on us all the time.

Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s appeal – do not fall into the trap of those instigating riots.

Farmers say that the Left Front government supported us

After the departure of the Left Front government and the demise of the CPM leader, there was no one to ask about our problems. But after the departure of the Left Front government, we never received compensation from the ruling party for the loss of crops due to natural causes. The Vairagi Khal was not supplied to Sanskar and our village for irrigation. Despite the primary school in the village being up to class eight, due to lack of teachers, our children go to Budbud ten kilometers away to study. Even the people of our village do not get the benefits of government schemes. We have got only Lakshmi Bhandar and Swasthya Sathi card. Problems related to farming remain. We Bihari farmers are discriminated against.

WB News: Adhir Ranjan Choudhary takes a jibe at Trinamool, Mamata Banerjee should not compare herself with Kejriwal and Soren.

Every time in elections we get assurance of promises.

The village people say that in order to treat them only as a vote bank, the leaders give empty assurances every time they come to the elections, make excuses and forget our problems after winning the elections. This time too, people of BJP candidate Dilip Ghosh had come from Medinipur. Now Kirti Azad’s people are coming to our village and meeting us. Our problem is being heard and we are being asked to vote. But this time Bihari farmers are uniting internally. This time, only time will tell on whose side these Bihari farmers will lean in the Lok Sabha elections? But it is true that those candidates who will listen to these Bihari farmers will vote for them only.
