A proposal regarding this has been sent to the state government by the council and it will be implemented as soon as the state approves it. Council President Chiranjeev Bhattacharya gave this information in a press conference organized in the metropolis.

Education Council wants to change the curriculum of 47 subjects

He told that the Higher Secondary Education Council wants to make changes in the curriculum of 47 subjects. The Council of Higher Secondary Education has formed separate committees for each subject and a Parliament meeting is being held on these committees next Saturday. Council Chairman Chiranjeev Bhattacharya said that we want to develop a new curriculum keeping in mind the students in the state in coordination with the central education boards. Earlier, changes have been made in the syllabus in the year 2012-13. He said that if the government gives approval, students will study according to the new curriculum from the next academic year. However, he did not elaborate on the new syllabus. He said that this will be discussed in detail in the meeting to be held on Saturday.

There will be a special unique code on the question papers of 14 subjects

While appearing for the examination of these 14 subjects, the candidates must mention in their answer sheet which serial number of question paper they are appearing for. He said that there will be space to write the roll number in the answer sheet. In subjects whose question papers will have serial numbers, candidates will have to write a code of six or seven numbers in the designated place. For subjects which do not have serial number in the question paper, that space will have to be left blank.
