Panagarh, Mukesh Tiwari: Late on Wednesday night, a group of armed dacoits committed robbery by holding a security guard hostage at gunpoint in a factory located in Sundiara area of ​​Kankasa police station area of ​​West Burdwan district. The dacoits first destroyed the CCTV cameras present in the factory, tied the armed security guards to trees and looted the factory. According to factory sources, it has been revealed that goods worth lakhs of rupees have been looted. Police have started investigating the incident. According to police sources, a group of robbers comprising about 30 people attacked a closed drinking water factory late last night. They broke the window wall of the factory and entered inside. Before that they broke the CCTV cameras.

Police engaged in investigation

After this, the miscreants showed firearms and tied three security guards, including a working gunman, to a tree. It is also alleged that the security guards were beaten. The miscreants had also looted the security guard’s gun. Then a truck containing 10 generators, 4 heavy motors, several pipes and material worth several lakhs of rupees was looted. However, before leaving, the criminals returned the gun to the security guard. The security guards called and informed the factory officials about the robbery. Factory officials informed Kankasa police station. On receiving the information, police went to the spot. The security guards were rescued. Police have started investigation regarding the incident.

1100 kg of banned firecrackers seized from different areas of the city

The Anti Rowdy Squad (ARS) team of Kolkata Police conducted special operations in various areas of the city between November 2 and November 8 and seized 1100 kg of banned firecrackers. According to Lalbazar sources, the police has so far seized a total of 1100 kg of banned firecrackers from various areas of the city by running a checkpoint checking campaign at various entry points of the city coming from outside Kolkata and checking the vehicles before entering the city. Among the seized firecrackers, there are also crackers which burst with loud noise like chocolate bomb, black firecracker etc. According to senior officials of Lalbazar, in future also the police will run a campaign against banned firecrackers in various areas, so that banned firecrackers are not burnt in the city during Kalipuja and Diwali.
