According to information received from the Meteorological Department, two new Doppler radars will be installed in Diamond Harbor of South 24 Parganas district and Malda district of North Bengal. As a result, the Indian Meteorological Department will be able to monitor the weather of entire West Bengal, parts of Bihar and almost entire Bangladesh. At present, the only Doppler radar in the state is on the roof of the New Secretariat Building located in the metropolis. Recently this building is being used as the annex building of Calcutta High Court.
