47th in West Bengal Kolkata book fair Will start from Thursday 18th January. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate the book fair at ‘Boimela’ premises of Salt Lake at 4 pm. Preparations for the book fair are in the final stages. Special arrangements for buses have been made by the state government for the fair. Many steps have been taken for the convenience of the people coming from the district. Publishers and Book Sellers Guild President Tridib Chatterjee and General Secretary Sudhangshu Shekhar De said that this year more than 20 countries will participate in the book fair. A large number of publishers will come from India and abroad. There will also be stalls of small magazines.

According to the organizers, publishers from Britain, America, Bangladesh, Germany, France, Italy, Russia, Spain, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Thailand will also come to the book fair. Bangladesh pavilion will be decorated in a special style. About 50 publishing houses from Bangladesh will come. Organizers said that there will be participation of publishers from almost all the states of the country in this year’s Kolkata Book Fair.
