The condition is not good. When he was being brought back to the ED office after medical examination from the Command Hospital, on the questions of the journalists he said: Health is very bad. I am almost on my death bed. The left side of the body has almost become paralyzed.

Minister is continuously claiming to be unwell

Meanwhile, when journalists asked him whether businessman Bakibul Rehman, arrested in the case, had given a loan of about Rs 9 crore to his wife and daughter without interest? On this he simply said, ‘Leave this gossip.’ Even on this day he has claimed himself to be innocent. Before this, Minister Mallik’s medical examination was conducted at the Command Hospital last Friday. Even at that time he had claimed to be unwell. It was also said that his left hand and leg could be paralyzed. Here, he did not give any answer to the questions asked regarding the scam and the properties of his family members.

ED officials interrogated for 20 hours

It is noteworthy that after interrogating for more than 20 hours, ED officials had arrested Minister Jyotipriya Mallik from his residence in Salt Lake in the early hours of October 27 in the ration distribution scam. Mallik served as the Food Supplies Minister from 2011 to 2021 and there were alleged irregularities in ration distribution during this period.
