WB News: Jagaddhatri immersion procession in Chandannagar today, crowd of visitors will gather, tight security arrangements

in Chandannagar, West Bengal Jagaddhatri puja Crowds of people have started gathering since Wednesday to watch the immersion procession. For the first time, a Devi idol immersion procession will be taken out on Ekadashi, to see which people continue to come from Chunchuda, Chandannagar, Bhadreshwar and Champdani. People from abroad have also come here to have darshan of the goddess. District Magistrate Mukta Arya and Chandannagar CP Amit P Jawalgi have made elaborate security arrangements for the immersion procession that will continue throughout the night. Shubhajit Sao, Secretary of Central Jagaddhatri Puja Committee and MIC of Chandannagar, said that the procession of 62 puja committees will be taken out today on 230 lorries. Those committees which will not participate in the procession will immerse their idols by 5 pm. After that the immersion procession will take place.
