WB News: CBI summons Mathew again in Narada sting case

WB News: In the Narada sting operation case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has again summoned Mathew Samuel for questioning. He has been asked to come to the office of the Central Investigation Agency located at Nizam Palace here on April 4. However, Samuel has given a letter in response to the notice sent to CBI. According to sources, Mathew has said in the letter that it is not possible for him to come to Kolkata without paying the expenses for his travel and stay. Mathew took a jibe at the Central Investigation Agency’s notice and termed it a “political drama” before the Lok Sabha elections. Before the Lok Sabha elections, the Central Investigation Agency has again become active in the Narada sting operation case. Samuel was also summoned for questioning three months ago.

CBI got some more new information and facts

It is being told that CBI has got some more new information and facts in this case. Samuel has been summoned only on the basis of that information. According to sources, Samuel told reporters that he was disappointed with the outcome of the investigation so far in the Narada sting case. Taking a jibe at the Central Investigation Agency’s notice, he also said that this summons is just a ‘political drama’ just before the Lok Sabha elections. I am not willing to participate in such activities. Should further investigation be considered necessary? I request that instructions be taken from Calcutta High Court. I don’t want to be a part of any ‘political drama’.

Mathew said, it is difficult to reach Kolkata in short time.

Mathew also said that since he is now in Bengaluru, he will not be able to reach Kolkata in such a short time. He demanded that if CBI wants to call him to Kolkata, it would be better if they (CBI) bear the expenses of his travel and hotel. It is noteworthy that before the 2016 assembly elections in the state, the revelation of Narada sting tape had created a stir in the political circles. In the sting video (the authenticity of which BollywoodWallah does not confirm), some people associated with politics were shown taking money from representatives of a fictitious company. The sting operation was allegedly conducted by Mathew Samuel of Narada News Portal. This matter reached the Calcutta High Court. In March 2017, the High Court ordered a CBI investigation into the sting operation. Parallel to CBI, ED is also investigating this case.
