WB News: Biker crushed to death by tractor in Ajaypalli, Vidbihar

Panagarh, Mukesh Tiwari: of West Burdwan Kankasa police station (Kankasa police station) In Ajaypalli of Vidbihar region of the region, a tractor carrying the soil from Ajay river in a trolley crushed the bike driver coming from the front. Due to this the bike driver died on the spot. There was anger among the local people after the incident. The local villagers started protesting by keeping the dead body on the road. After getting information about this, the police reached there, seeing which the local people got enraged. The villagers protested against the police and local Trinamool leader Purnachandra Majhi, the owner of the tractor. Alleged that soil is being illegally extracted from Ajay River and smuggled through tractor trolley.

Police had to struggle to collect the dead body from the protesters

The police, despite knowing everything, remains indifferent. Jatin Kirtaniya, an eyewitness to the incident, said that a tractor carrying a trolley heavily laden with soil hit the bike driver at high speed. Due to this, the bike driver got hit by the tractor and died on the spot. The name of the deceased has been stated as Liton Biswas (38). After the incident, local people started blocking the road by keeping the dead body on the road. Alleged that illegal smuggling of soil and sand is going on in the area with impunity. Police has no control over them. Many people get injured every day after being hit by vehicles carrying mud and sand at high speed.

Villagers erupted in anger

There was anger among the villagers after this accident on Thursday morning. The bike driver died in a tragic accident. Villagers protested against the police and Trinamool leaders. Liton Biswas died after being hit by a tractor trolley laden with overloaded soil. He was a resident of Ajay Palli. In response to the incident, local residents started protesting. Local people complain that soil was being illegally smuggled in the tractor of the area’s influential Trinamool leader Purnachandra Majhi. Then the tractor went out of control and crushed the bike driver. Liton died on the spot. Villagers allege that people of many villages including Ajaypalli, Kajladihi on the road from Ajay Ghat to Deul are spending their days in fear.

Local Trinamool leader owns deadly tractor

Local people complain that with the help of some powerful Trinamool leaders of the area, smuggling is going on by mining sand and soil from Ajay Ghat of Kankasa Shivpur and Ajay Ghat of Deul. Transportation of sand and soil is also done in the vehicles of these leaders. Local villagers complain that the administration and police were informed several times about incidents of soil and sand smuggling, yet no action was taken. After the death of Liton Biswas by the tractor of Trinamool worker Purnachandra Majhi, excitement spread in Ajaypalli of Kankasa. When Trinamool youth president of Vidbihar region Raju Majumdar reached the spot, he was surrounded by people. Later, Raju Majumdar assured the angry people that appropriate action would be taken against the culprits. Only then the situation became normal.

After the incident, police reached the area and took control of the situation.

Regarding the incident, BJP District General Secretary Bhagirath Ghosh claimed that smuggling of soil and sand is continuing unabated in the area. Alleged that Trinamool leaders are behind this corruption. The BJP leader warned that if action is not taken soon in the cases of soil and sand smuggling, they will protest. After the incident, police reached the area and took control of the situation. Somehow the body was taken from the protesters and sent to Durgapur Divisional Hospital for postmortem. The deadly tractor has been confiscated.
