WB News: Abhishek Banerjee gets another blow from the Supreme Court, petition banning media coverage also rejected

National General Secretary of Trinamool Congress of West Bengal and MP Abhishek Banerjee (MP Abhishek Banerjee, Has received a big blow from the Supreme Court. The apex court rejected Abhishek’s petition and clearly refused to give him any kind of relief. Let us tell you that the Trinamool MP had filed a petition demanding transfer of the cases related to him from the single bench of High Court Justice Amrita Sinha to another bench, which was rejected by the Supreme Court. The court asked Abhishek to file a petition in the division bench of the High Court.

Permission was given to submit property related documents

It is noteworthy that earlier in the teacher appointment scam, Justice Amrita Sinha had allowed Abhishek Banerjee, his mother Lata Banerjee and other directors of Leaps and Bounds to submit property related documents. Abhishek challenged that order in the division bench. A division bench of Justice Soumen Sen and Justice Uday Kumar upheld most of the single bench’s order. After this Abhishek had approached the Supreme Court. Last Friday, the Supreme Court had rejected the said petition. After this the petition to change the bench was also rejected.

Petition to ban media coverage also rejected

Abhishek had also demanded in the petition that the comments made by Justice Amrita Sinha during the hearing of the case are being published in the media, which is causing loss of her respect. Therefore, media coverage should also be banned. Abhishek’s lawyer had filed an application to ban the publication of such news. On this, Supreme Court Justice Sanjeev Khanna said that we cannot give any such order. If there is any application, go to the Division Bench of the High Court.
