The health of these candidates, who went on hunger strike by sitting under the open sky in cold weather all night, deteriorated on Friday. In the morning two candidates fell seriously ill. He became unconscious and fell on the ground. Later both were taken to the hospital.
Candidates not ready to back down from hunger strike decision

He says that appointments should be made soon on the expanded vacancies. They have been protesting near Matangini Hazra statue and Shaheed Minar for 527 days regarding this demand. However, as no solution was found, they changed the venue of the protest this time.
