5.6 magnitude earthquake hits various parts of West Bengal and neighboring Bangladesh on Saturday morning Earthquake Tremors were felt. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at around 9.05 am, with its epicenter at a depth of 55 kilometers in south-eastern Bangladesh. NCS wrote on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), ‘On the morning of 02-12-2023 at 09:05:31 Indian time, an earthquake of 5.6 magnitude occurred in Bangladesh and India. Its epicenter was 55 kilometers below the surface at 23.15 degrees latitude and 90.89 degrees Celsius. Was in degree longitude. West Bengal Disaster Management Department said that at present no damage has been reported from anywhere in the state.
We have not received the final report yet. At present there is no news of any damage due to the earthquake. Kolkata Police and Kolkata Municipal Corporation officials also said that there was no news of loss of life or property.

In Bangladesh, earthquake was felt in many areas including Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Rangpur, Chuadanga, Noakhali at 9:35 local time. Rabiul Haq, head of the country’s meteorological department, said that the source of the earthquake was Ramganj. Many people in Bangladesh felt the shock of the earthquake. In panic they left the house and came to the road. However, there is no news of any damage yet. Many people have shared their experiences of the earthquake on social media. A few days ago there was a strong earthquake in Nepal. Tremors were felt in large parts of North India including Delhi and Punjab.
