The maximum water logging was seen in Khaitan Market, Birla Mandir Road, and Rajendra Nagar Road number one and two. Due to the very low landscape of the surrounding areas, when the water level in the well of the sump house went down in the late evening, water started coming out rapidly from these places only after that.

Water up to one and a half feet was seen in the road leading to the High Court from behind Hotel Pataliputra near Income Tax Golambar. In many localities of Kankarbagh also water logging was seen during the rains. This made it difficult for people to come and go. In East Indiranagar, the level of frozen water has increased even more since last one week, due to which the problems of the people have increased even more.

During the rains, municipal workers were seen trying to extract water at many places. During this, in various wards, the QRT of the Municipal Corporation was seen opening the cover of the manhole located near the roads and waking up the catchpit.

Efforts were made to throw out water from the low-lying areas by installing super sucker machines and also with the help of tubewells. Simultaneously, the drainage pumping stations were operated to their full capacity and the inflow and outflow of water in them were also continuously monitored. This was the reason that as the water came during the rains, when the rain stopped, it was also seen coming out at the same speed.

Here, the IMD has issued a forecast saying that heavy rains are expected in entire South-Central Bihar, North-Western Bihar, North-Central Bihar and South-East Bihar including Patna on Thursday. There are indications of good rains in the rest of Bihar as well. Till Wednesday, Bihar has received more than 495 mm of rain, which is 30 per cent less than the normal rainfall.

According to the official information of IMD, the trough line of monsoon is passing through Patna on Wednesday. On Thursday also its effect will increase further in Bihar. According to the forecast, the rainy season will continue in the remaining days of August as well. Bihar has high hopes from this rain.
