In many localities of Kankarbagh also water logging was seen during the rains. This made it difficult for people to come and go.

During this, in various wards, the QRT of the Municipal Corporation was seen opening the cover of the manhole located near the roads and waking up the catchpit. Along with this, efforts were made to throw out water from the low-lying areas by installing super sucker machines and also with the help of tubewells.

This was the reason that as the water came during the rains, when the drizzle stopped, it was also seen coming out at the same speed.

Ganges water level increased at Mahendru Ghat

Due to rain, the water level of Ganga has also started increasing. Water has reached the steps of the ghat on the banks of the Ganges. Janardan Ghat in Digha, water has reached the bottom of Pati bridge and entered the way. Due to this the movement has been disrupted. People are coming and going by entering the water. For the last four days, the water level of Ganga is increasing. Because of this, the water of the Ganga has reached the steps of the Ghat of BN College. Due to water on the river front road built on the banks of the Ganges, people are walking in it.

The water level of Ganga reached 49.37 meters in Digha on Wednesday. Whereas in Gandhi Ghat this level was 48.33 meters. The water level has been increasing continuously since four days. The danger level at Digha Ghat is 50.45 metres. The danger level is 1.08 meters below, while the danger level in Gandhi Ghat is 48.60 meters. It is only 0.27 meters below the danger level. It will not take time to reach the danger level if there is an increase in water. Digha Ghat had a level of 49.02 meters on August 8, 48.45 meters on August 7 and 47.91 meters on August 6. On the other hand, Gandhi Ghat had a level of 47.90 meters on August 8, 47.48 meters on August 7 and 47.05 meters on August 6.
