The Volvo C40 Recharge joins the ranks of the company’s another XC40 Recharge, which is already on sale in the country. The first coupe differentiates itself with the roofline, which differentiates it with the raked windscreen and the reworked LED taillights. In addition to this, the tailgate has also been redesigned while the taillights are thinner and wider with wraparound effect along with new reverse lights.

The front styling of the C40 Recharge is similar to that of the XC40 Recharge. Nevertheless, the C40 seems to have managed to carve out a distinct identity for itself. Especially, when it is seen in the profile of the company. The coupe SUV will be the first offering from Volvo to get the new Pixel LED headlights. This model rides on 19-inch alloy wheels with dual-tone finish.

The unit requires you to sign in with your Google ID like any Android device, which gives direct access to features like Google Maps and Assistant. Other features on the C40 Recharge include sensor-based ADAS technology with driving capability, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, power front seats with memory function for the driver, dual-zone climate control, a premium Harman Kardon sound system Are. The luggage space is 413 liters in the coupe body style, while it is 452 liters in the XC40 Recharge. Additionally, you get 31-litres of frunk storage space at the front.

On the powertrain front, the Volvo C40 Recharge will come with two motors. There will be a motor on each axle, which generates 402 Bhp and 660 Nm of peak torque. It can do 0-100 kmph in 4.7 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds quicker than the SUV. The coupe SUV can be charged from 0-100 percent in just 27 minutes. For this, you will have to plug it into a 150 kW DC fast charger.
Battery
The C40 Recharge is based on the brand’s CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform and draws power from a new generation battery pack. The 78 kWh unit offers a range of 530 km (WLTP round) on a single charge, which is much higher than the 418 km range on the XC40 recharge. The old battery is still used in this.

Upon arrival, the Volvo CC40 Recharge will rival the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq5 and the Mercedes-Benz EQB. Prices for the electric coupe SUV are expected to start from Rs.60 lakh onwards. Its unique body style gives it an edge over its rivals in the segment.
