According to media reports, German car manufacturer Volkswagen has launched this new edition of GT trim of Taigun in India at a starting price of Rs 16.3 lakh. There is also news that the German company will sell only a few limited units of this special edition SUV in India. This special edition of the midsize SUV car Taigun will compete in the market with models like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyrider, Tata Harrier and the recently launched Honda Elevate.
Changes in design of Taigun
If reports are to be believed, Volkswagen has made many sporty updates in the Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition as compared to the standard model. This SUV is equipped with blacked-out 17-inch alloy wheels and red colored front brake callipers. There are special decals on the doors, C-pillar and rear fender along with ‘Trail’ badge on the tailgate. Additionally, this special edition features functional roof rails and is available in three exclusive color schemes – Candy White, Carbon Steel Gray and Reflex Silver.
Taigun’s interior and features
Many updates have been made inside the cabin in Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition. It gets black seat upholstery with contrast red stitching and ‘trail’ embossing which gives itself a distinct look. Other updates include a dashcam with visual recorder and 2-inch built-in IPS LCD display, 10-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, rear camera, wireless phone charging, tire pressure monitoring system, automatic headlamps. Some other features are also included. This special edition lacks some features present in the regular model. For example, it does not get a full digital instrument cluster, a sunroof, ventilated front seats, cruise control, six airbags and full LED headlamps.

The Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is powered by the same 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine as the regular model which generates 150 bhp power and 250 Nm of torque. This limited edition is available only with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

This is a five seater car, in which at least five people can sit. Along with this, Tata Harrier has a boot space of 445 liters, which can be increased to 815 liters by folding the second row seat.

The new Tata Harrier has a 2-litre diesel engine, which generates power of 170PS and torque of 350Nm. Along with the engine, it has the option of 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. The manual gearbox model of Tata Harrier gives a mileage of 16.80 kilometers per liter. At the same time, its model with automatic engine gives a mileage of about 14.60 kilometers per liter.
