Violation of rules in the tender for supply of solar pump sets in Latehar

Latehar: Solar based one HP pump set is to be installed in various blocks of the district. A tender was published by the Deputy Development Commissioner for the supply of solar based pump sets with the funds of the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT), but the government provisions were not followed in the tender to benefit a particular company and on Wednesday. The tender was opened in the Deputy Development Commissioner’s office at 10 pm, whereas in the published NIT, the time for opening the tender was only till 11.30 am on November 8.

It may be noted that solar based pump sets are to be supplied in various blocks of the district at a cost of Rs 10 lakh. For which the last date was fixed as 7th November and the tender had to be submitted by 5 pm. Representatives of the companies participating in the tender are called from the Deputy Development Commissioner’s office at 10 pm to open the tender, which is against the rules. Arun Prasad, proprietor of M/s Jai Mata Di & Company, which participated in the tender, has written a letter to Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Mohan complaining about this matter.

Shri Prasad has written in his letter that there have been irregularities in the supply of solar based pump sets. This should be canceled and the tender should be floated again and executed with complete transparency. In this matter, Deputy Development Commissioner Alok Shikari Kachhap said that all the rules have been followed in the tender as per the government provision.
