Vidyapati- A glimpse of the untouched aspects of the great poet’s life.

Ashish Jha: Till now there was no film to understand the life of great poet Vidyapati Thakur in its entirety. In such a situation, the feature film ‘Vidyapati’ made in Hindi and Maithili under the banner of Janaki Films will try to fill this gap. ‘Vidyapati’ has been directed by Shyam Bhaskar, while the music has been composed by Alok Kumar. Producer of the film Sunil Kumar Jha said that the film is currently with the Censor Board and after getting the certificate from there, it is expected to be released by the end of this year. The trailer of the film will be released in Madhubani on 10th November.

This is the third film to be made on the life of poet Kokil Vidyapati ji.

Shyam Bhaskar, educated from NSD, Delhi, is a famous Maithili director. Under his direction, a radio serial named ‘Vidyapati’ has been broadcast from Akashvani, Darbhanga. They say that the first film on Vidyapati was made in Bengali language in 1936 and the second film was made in Hindi in 1964, in which Bharat Bhushan played the role of Vidyapati. They say that this is the third film to be made on the life of Vidyapati, but in those films, no attempt has been made to understand Vidyapati’s life in its entirety. But these films neither influence serious scholars nor are they important from the entertainment point of view. In the feature film ‘Vidyapati’ we have not only seen the great poet, but have also shown many of his aspects. In this, an attempt has been made to highlight many aspects of his life.

Shooting took place on such an expensive set for the first time

The producer of the film said that Vidyapati ji has influenced the broad masses of India. This is why we are going to release this film in different Indian languages, so that people across the country can become aware of the untouched aspects of the life of poet Kokil Vidyapati. The shooting of this film has been done in Mangrouni village of Madhubani district. For the first time in the history of Maithili film, a set worth lakhs of rupees was designed for the shooting of a film.

Cultural glimpse of Bengal will be seen
The performance of Kathak and Odissi dance in the film will also be captivating. For this, famous artists from Bengal and Odisha were called. Dancer Shobhana Panda said that Vidyapati not only influenced the whole of India, but he influenced Odia and Bengali the most.

Many well-known faces will be seen in the film
Tushar, who played the role of the great poet in the film, and Sakshi Mishra, who played the role of his wife, say that this character was challenging for them, but they happily accepted the challenge. Famous Maithili theater actress Premlata Mishra Prem will also be seen in the film. Apart from these, Shubhanarayan Jha, Vijay Mishra, Praveen Jha will also be seen.
