A few months before the Lok Sabha elections, Congress on Saturday made a major reshuffle in its national organization and appointed 12 general secretaries, which include many prominent leaders including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Sachin Pilot. According to the release issued by Congress Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal, Priyanka Gandhi remains as General Secretary in the new team of Party President Mallikarjun Kharge, although at present she has not been given the charge of any state or any other responsibility. She was playing the role of in-charge of Uttar Pradesh for the last five years. Party general secretary Avinash Pandey has been appointed as the new in-charge of Uttar Pradesh in place of Priyanka Gandhi. Earlier, Pandey was looking after the charge of Jharkhand. Former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Pilot has become the Congress General Secretary for the first time. He has been given the charge of Chhattisgarh. Till now General Secretary Kumari Selja was carrying the responsibility of Chhattisgarh in-charge. Now he has been given the charge of Uttarakhand.
