The Grand Alliance government has once again fallen in Bihar and the equation of power in the state has changed. Nitish Kumar has submitted his resignation to the Governor. Nitish Kumar is going to become the Chief Minister for the ninth time in the NDA government. The Grand Alliance government could run in Bihar under the leadership of Nitish Kumar for 17 and a half months. Now JDU has again come together with NDA and Nitish Kumar is again becoming the Chief Minister in the government along with BJP. Nitish Kumar is given the credit for the changed picture of Bihar. He holds the record of being the head of the state for the longest period. Nitish Kumar was born in Bakhtiyarpur. Kalyan Bigha situated in Harnaut of Nalanda is his ancestral village. Nitish Kumar has obtained an engineering degree. He was also involved in Jai Prakash Narayan’s Sampoorna Kranti movement. His wife has passed away. Nitish Kumar is the father of a son. Nitish Kumar, who played his role in politics since his student days, joined the Union Cabinet for the first time in 1990 as Minister of State for Agriculture. He contested elections from Barh Lok Sabha and was also the Railway Minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. Nitish Kumar never contested assembly elections. He has been becoming the Chief Minister only after being a member of the Legislative Council.
